I walked the long trail with some kind of mixed feeling – happiness intertwined with sadness! Happy because I finally made it to the Track, and sad because soon it would be behind us. The only way to retrace the trail and the path is to walk down memory lane!
Finally, we were at Sandfly Point, the end of the track. We were greeted by, none other than sand flies! From here, we took a 20-minute ferry ride across Milford Sound to a town called Milford.
From Milford, it was a 120km drive back to Te Anau. On the way back, it was snowing!
Next on the itinerary – a nice hot shower back in Te Anau.
